The Lord Is Risen
Matthew 28 , Luke 24 ,Mark 16, John 20 Worship Song
“Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen…”
Matthew 28 , Luke 24 ,Mark 16, John 20 Worship Song
“Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen…”
“The Lord Is Risen (He Is Risen)” is a cinematic Easter worship duet that tells the Resurrection story as a journey—from the first quiet footsteps of the women at the tomb, to the disciples running in awe, and finally to the hope that reaches us today. The verses are intentionally intimate and close, like a whispered testimony in the early morning; then the chorus opens wide into a bold proclamation: death has lost its throne, and the empty tomb is our salvation’s sign.
This song is built to move from sorrow into victory. It invites every listener to sing with confidence, “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,” not as a slogan, but as a living truth. May these words lift your eyes to the risen Jesus, fill your heart with peace, and awaken a steady hope that carries you into every new day.

[Verse 1]
Dawn is barely breaking, dew on the stones,
Spices in our hands, and grief in our bones.
We reach the garden, and the doorway’s wide—
The heavy stone is moved, the grave is open-eyed.
Then a voice like lightning, gentle as the air:
“Don’t be afraid… He is not here.”
[Chorus]
The Lord is risen—He is risen—death has lost its throne,
The grave is open, and hope is shining on.
The Lord is risen—He is risen—night is overthrown,
That empty tomb is my salvation’s sign.
The Lord is risen—He is risen—I can face tomorrow,
My life is filled with hope, because He rose.
[Verse 2]
Someone comes running, the city wakes in haste,
We rise and we run where the sorrow was laid.
Linen folded quietly, set apart in place—
A holy kind of silence, and fear upon my face.
Then You come closer, You whisper out my name,
And the shattered heart remembers flame.
You stand among us, and Your words still calm the storm:
“Peace be with you… I am.”
[Bridge]
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, I won’t be afraid.
I know for sure—He holds my tomorrow,
My life is filled with hope, because He lives.
When I am weak, Your peace will wrap around me,
When I lose my way, Your light will lead me home.
Risen Lord, You still are walking with me—
Turning tears to praise, turning night to morning.
[Final Chorus]
The Lord is risen—He is risen—death has lost its throne,
The grave is open, and hope is shining on.
The Lord is risen—He is risen—night is overthrown,
That empty tomb is my salvation’s sign.
The Lord is risen—He is risen—I can face tomorrow,
My life is filled with hope, because He rose.
[Outro]
My life is filled with hope, because He rose…
Because He rose… forever.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the Resurrection of Jesus—thank You that the grave is not the end, and that death no longer has the final word. As we sing “The Lord is risen—He is risen,” let this truth sink deeper than a lyric and become the anchor of our hearts. Thank You that the empty tomb is the clear sign of our salvation, and that Your love is stronger than sin, shame, and every darkness we carry.
You know how often we come to You like those women at dawn—tired, grieving, unsure of what we will find. You also know how often we are like the disciples—running with questions, our minds racing, our hearts trembling. Risen Jesus, come near to us today as You did then. Speak peace over our fear, call us by name, and awaken hope where our hearts have felt cold or broken.
Let the power of Your Resurrection reshape the way we live. When tomorrow feels uncertain, help us remember: because You live, we can face it. When anxiety rises, steady us with Your presence. When we feel weak, wrap us in Your peace; when we feel lost, lead us with Your light. Make our lives a living witness that You are alive—turning tears into praise and leading us from night into morning.
We give You all the glory, King Jesus. In Your mighty name we pray, amen.
