Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us through this song that Pentecost is not only a story from long ago, but a living display of Your promise and power. Thank You for giving the Holy Spirit to Your people, and thank You that You are still willing to fill those who belong to You today. We come before You and confess that our hearts often grow cold, our spirits become weak, and our inner lives are easily crowded by worry, busyness, and self. Please have mercy on us and fill us again with Your Holy Spirit.
Lord, remove everything in us that keeps us from You. Empty us of pride, cleanse our thoughts, and renew our hunger for Your presence. Help us not only to say that we are willing, but to truly place ourselves into Your hands. Let Your Spirit make us strong and burning again. In our weakness, give us strength. In discouragement, give us comfort. In confusion, give us guidance. And give us boldness to open our mouths and testify of Your grace.
Teach us not to stop at feeling moved for a moment, but to truly live out the life of Christ. May holiness and love be seen in our daily lives, in our families, in our work, and in our service. Let others see Your presence through us. Remind us that true renewal does not come by human effort alone, but by yielding to You and allowing Your Spirit to work freely within us.
Today we also pray for the people around us. Fill those who are tired, weak, or spiritually dry, and draw them back to You again. We also pray for this world. Let Your Spirit move in many hearts and bring repentance, hope, healing, and revival. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
